Joyce Chen Class Of 2019 | LVN

Joyce Chen

"My name is Zheyu Chen. I am a Licensed Vocational Nurse who attended Angeles Nursing in 2019, and all I have to say is thank you. I am happy to share that all of this became possible due to the continuous support from my husband and both parents, who helped me take care of my two children while I was attending school. Even though I was a nurse in China, I passed the NCLEX-RN exam in New York and became a Registered Nurse in New York. There were still so many requirements for me to meet, such as a TOEFL score if I wanted to transfer my RN license to California. Additionally, with a foreign nursing education, lacking actual workplace communication skills, practicum skills, and clinical experience in the United States, plus all my family lives in Los Angeles. This is why I made the choice to restart and attend this accelerated LVN program first, and maybe upgrade to RN after getting my license and work experience. At times, it was tough for us all, but the 13 months went by fast. Another benefit of mine was that I live close to Angeles Nursing, so it was convenient for me to be at school and at home. I am honored to have had this opportunity of enrolling at Angeles Nursing and successfully completing my program. I remember telling myself, 'If you don't give it a try, you will never know what is in the future for you.' When I think back, I remember beautiful memories, happy memories, memories of frustration, and humorous memories. I would like to thank my parents, spouse, family, instructors, classmates, and friends who were there for me, encouraging and supporting me through this journey."

Jessica Deng

My name is Zhijie Deng, and I attended Angeles Nursing for the Vocational Nursing Program in 2019. Before enrolling in this school, I worked as a CNA. However, due to my background in the field of nursing, I felt the need to return to school to become an LVN. I discovered this school on the website and scheduled an appointment to gather more information about it. I appreciated that the school had a bilingual Admissions Department that could present the LVN program to me in both English and Mandarin. I must say that my experience with my instructors was positive. They provided the necessary materials for me to succeed. Since I have always enjoyed helping patients, I believed it was essential for me to advance in my career and increase my income simultaneously. Working part-time as a CNA while being a full-time student was not easy for me, but I managed to make it happen for myself and my family. Lastly, I want to share that right after passing the NCLEX exam, I was hired by one of the clinical sites where I was a student. Currently, I am planning to enroll in an LVN-BSN program while working as an LVN, and I can honestly say that I will not experience any financial stress. I highly recommend Angeles Nursing to anyone interested in the medical field.
